Category Research &
Brand Strategy
We conducted interviews with key stakeholders and numerous plant enthusiasts, held a strategy workshop with the client and even visited the farm as a studio, to get a better understanding of the brand, its products and the role plants play in people's lives.

With this, we were able to craft the brand purpose, aiding us in building a brand that stayed true to the what it stands for.






Brand Logo & Visual Identity
We designed the logo to be a simple and clean representation of the joy of growing plants. Our logo reflects Ugaoo’s culture: friendly, inclusive, approachable and everything green.


Using vivid, childlike illustrations and scribbles, we bring alive the sense of movement, curiosity and innocent fun of spending time with plants. Freedom from having to be perfect, openness to explore will makes everyones plant journey smooth, easy and successful.

Packaging
Ugaoo prides itself in being the only D2C plant brand that ensures that its customers recieves its plants, not just sustainably, but also securely and efficiently. Their unique tube design allows for plants to be protected during rough transits, and also provide an excellent unboxing experience.



Ecommerce Website
We designed the website to be a mobile first site. Taking cues from the visual language of the brand, we created a D2C ecommerce site that is uniquely Ugaoo in it’s experience.

Ugaoo, unlike a lot of brands doesn’t just rely on product categories but also curates products into types (eg. Easy to care, beginner friendly, pet friendly, etc). With this in mind we decided to create modules which would work best across such varied products and would also be scalable.


Navigation
Keeping Ugaoo’s information architecture in mind, we designed a multilevel navigation in the main menu. This adapts to the mobile for easy navigation between sections.
The footer was designed to house some key informative pages. Key actions like order tracking and coupons were also linked in the footer for easy access across the website.




Category & Product Pages
We designed the product category listing pages to filter and sort products easily using a variety of handy options. Options like ‘plant locations’, ‘water schedule’, ‘maintenance’ help a shopper make a decision according to their needs & limitations.
The product pages highlight these key aspects at a quick glance with the help of cute illustrated icons that compliment the brand’s language.


Cart & Checkout
We designed the cart and checkout experience to ensure the user could view all the information at a glance and felt reassured about their purchase especially in case of first time users.
The cart and checkout pages were designed accounting for a myriad of scenarios to ensure a consistent and ideal experience for the user.


Gifting & Rewards
We designed the plant parent club pages to help users understand common issues they encounter with plant parenthood. This enables the user to purchase plants knowing they have support at every step and can venture into plant parenthood or add plants new to them with confidence.

Care Guide
Plant care is easy and Ugaoo wants everyone to know it. The blog posts and care guide were designed for easy navigation and specific plants can be placed with a dictionary like alphabetic sorting system. The plant pages here delve into more detail about care and benefits than the product detail pages.
